Thailand means land of the free. Freedom is an appropriate name for Thailand, because it is an open welcoming place. It may be the perfect spot to choose for a family vacation.
The sun almost always shines in Thailand.
The climate only varies a few temperature degrees year round. May through October is the rainy season in Thailand, but the rainfall does not deter tourists.
As a matter of fact, Thailand's rainy season could be the best time of year to visit. One reason that this is true is due to the unlimited supply of cheap hotels and serviced apartments during the low tourist season in June, July and September. Most tourists want to visit Thailand during the winter months when the climate in their home country is a steady diet of cold, dreary weather, and so they take a vacation in the land of smiles.
Since the winter months draw large crowds of vacationers, come to Thailand during the rainy season and experience all the hospitality of the Thai people for half the price of a winter vacation. Whether you enjoy adventure in the northern mountains or relaxing on southern beaches, the summer months are a great time to book a five star resort for a three star price.
Thailand is a wonderful place for a family vacation. You will find a wide variety of activities; or you could simply discover peace and relaxation, if sunning on the perfect sandy beach is appealing to you. There is a wide assortment of family-friendly events from which to choose. You can take your family for a swim; or there is rock climbing, elephant riding and cultural shows to see.
Bangkok offers a good family atmosphere. It is a big city and you can find fast food that will satisfy the hunger of youngsters. Simply eating a hamburger could be your child's idea of paradise.
Chiang Mai has mountains and hill tribes villages to visit. Make sure to drive to the top of Doi Inthanon, the highest peak in Thailand, and experience a cool climate in the middle of the tropics. There are many waterfalls to play in and birds to watch during your ascent to the top.
